Here’s what you can expect during your Zoom Whitening appointment:
- Preparation: Before beginning the whitening treatment, your dentist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth and gums to ensure they are healthy and suitable for the procedure. All patients are recommended to brush with Sensodyne toothpaste for 2 weeks leading up to their whitening appointment.
- Application of Whitening Gel: The Zoom treatment uses a combination of hydrogen peroxide gel and a specially designed visible LED light lamp to lighten the color of the teeth. A plastic retractor will be placed along with protective coverings to help keep the mouth open and protect the soft tissues during the treatment. During the procedure, the whitening gel will be applied in two to four 15-minute sessions in combination with the whitening lamp, which emits a safe and UV-free light that helps penetrate the enamel and break down stains. During each session, your dentist will monitor the progress of the whitening treatment to ensure optimal results.
